CURRENT HEALTH RISKS MEAN THAT WE MUST EACH DO OUR PART TO KEEP OURSELVES, OUR FAMILIES AND OUR COMMUNITIES SAFE.

HERE’S WHAT THAT MEANS AT GOTHAM:

  • We have a cultural expectation of mask wearing, but we respect our peers’ choices and boundaries.

    • For masks to be effective, they must cover both our nose and our mouth, and should pass the candle test (if you can blow out a candle while wearing your mask, it is not guaranteed to protect you or others).

  • We use hand sanitizer and wash our hands often throughout each day.

  • We wipe down our desks and work spaces multiple times over the course of the day.

  • If we feel ill, we stay home.  We also monitor the health of our family members as that could impact us (and our school community).

  • We support a commitment to regular Covid testing. We offer test kits not just upon close contact, but four times per month.

  • We use classrooms as additional eating spaces beyond the classroom, and we allow students to go out for lunch in order to eat comfortably while maintaining a safe distance.

  • We require all visitors, employees, community partners and PSAL participants to be vaccinated as per NYCDOE guidance.
